Lord test me and help me keep my mind on You

"And they sacrifice sacrifices of thanksgiving, And recount His works with singing. Those going down [to] the sea in ships, Doing business in many waters, They have seen the works of Jehovah, And His wonders in the deep. And He saith, and appointeth a tempest, And it lifteth up its billows, They go up [to] the heavens, they go down [to] the depths, Their soul in evil is melted. They reel to and fro, and move as a drunkard, And all their wisdom is swallowed up. And they cry to Jehovah in their adversity, And from their distresses He bringeth them out. He establisheth a whirlwind to a calm, And hushed are their billows. And they rejoice because they are quiet, And He leadeth them to the haven of their desire. They confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men," (Psalms 107:22-31). Young's Literal Translation. "It is good for me that I have been afflicted; That I may learn thy statutes." (Psalms 119:71). ASV 1901 "For those who live according to the flesh have their outlook shaped by the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit." (Romans 8:5). NET

God watches do not be deceived

5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. [Gen26:5]

15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of. [Gen28:15]>

God truly is true to His word. If we follow Him the way He wants us to we receive the best of treatment and i do not doubt that if we take time today to think to ourselves "What does God want me to do, how should i do it, when should i do it?" And trust me when we do this God recognizes our efforts like in

4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.[Ac10:4]

Let's strive for the best

Important to me

Hold on to the law and teachings of the Lord. Do not let go of love and faithfulness. As for wisdom and understanding cling onto them. Judgement and discernment we should not let out of our sight. Bits from Prov 3

Roots

Read and re-read Psalm 37 its loaded.

But my major concern is about this tree yeah this one.
It's big, tall, strong, yet i wonder how it became so, because it started small. Well the roots. I have been wondering where my roots are - whether in the Word of God or in things of this world? And this goes down to where the heart is. Jesus is right in saying all He said "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. " (Matthew 6:21). I challenge you to re-trace your steps and see where your roots are. If we want to refer to God as our all, we have to be rooted in Him. Tell me how we can be rooted in Christ?

Our rebirth

"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him." (1 John 3:1). "Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure." (1 John 3:2-3). "To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." (Colossians 1:27). "For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father". The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children." (Romans 8:15-16). "And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us." (1 John 3:23-24). the Lord is faithful to His word let's live today conscious of our adoption and inheritance. (Scripture verses taken from NIV)

"But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner's fire or a launderer's soap." (Malachi 3:2).
"He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness," (Malachi 3:3).
"and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the LORD, as in days gone by, as in former years." (Malachi 3:4).
""You have said, 'It is futile to serve God. What did we gain by carrying out his requirements and going about like mourners before the LORD Almighty?" (Malachi 3:14).
"But now we call the arrogant blessed. Certainly the evildoers prosper, and even those who challenge God escape.'"" (Malachi 3:15).
"Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name." (Malachi 3:16).
""They will be mine", says the LORD Almighty, "in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him." (Malachi 3:17).
"And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not." (Malachi 3:18).
"Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it." (Psalms 34:11-14).
"The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry;" (Psalms 34:15).
"For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin- because anyone who has died has been freed from sin." (Romans 6:6-7).
the Lord clearly will have His way and we ought to put ourselves in the right place in order not to make vain His sacrifice for us.

Share your quiet time (experience)

This is purposely for quiet time : personal daily devotions/moments with God Click the topic to add your comments and add to this section and view what others have to share!

"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you". So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"" (Hebrews 13:5-6). NIV
What I learnt from these verses in my devotional guide talks about the fact that we should remember God will always lookout for us. But it went on further, to argue that we should not ignore the people and resources He brings our way. Some people fail to recognise this and they may end up ignoring God. So next time we trust the Lord for His providence we should keep our Trust in GOD and look out for the people and resources He brings our way.
